After talking this over with Selim and a couple of others, it appears that Sunday (20/12) would be the most suitable day, with the venue being on the Lake at Pelican waterfront park, just along from the boat launching ramp, in Lakeview Pde. Timing...
I think Pelican would be an ideal spot; central to most (albeit a drive for some), plenty of parking, grassy areas for families/picnicking, safe paddling area for kids/non paddlers nearby (Swan Bay), gas BBQs (if required), fresh water on tap, toi...

I deleted the other Chrissy event. I would be happy with the 19th/20th too. As I said if we want things like a data projector I can bring one.

Yep, we'll be at the doubles day - we've got to use that beast - so Dec 19/20 would be best for me too.

On Sat 12 Dec Annie and I will be attending the NSWSKC Double Kayak training in Sydney in our M730. I am fairly sure Ben will also be attending this course (which eventually leads on to Doubles Sea Skills).

70KMs? in a day. Extra ordinary effort, I know how I felt after 39Kms.

Solo on ABC TV
Did you guys watched 'Solo' last night on ABC TV? What do you think of it? I found it imazing to see the distance he made and how close he came achieving his goal. In a way I myself feel he has achieved his goal but with a tragic end. The stress call audio is delivered with the text captions. It is kind of a shame that there was no chance for the viewer to try to understand if the call was clear or not to the coast guard which was really controversial.
