Selim,
I have been wondering how best to get the kids interested. I had been considering something similar, but not sure whether to just buy another single. Would you consider a test paddle with a couple of my kids if not overwhelmed with bids in the next few weekends. ALSO ... Are you interested in a paddle tomorrow???

Campbell, No problems, you can have a test drive. It is great fun boat for kids. You are close to me here so if you want to pick up and have a run, no problems. i was thinking to drop into water from Gosford Sailing club tomorrow and stay in Brisbane waters as the wind will pick up according to forecast. I was thinking to get a start at 8:30am.
Let me know.

Cheers,
Selim.

Campbell, we did 26..7 Km, took 4hrs and 40Min and our average speed came to 6Km an hour,
(or I sould say my average speed, you were faster than me) Our highest speed reached to 12kms an hour.at one stage. And yes that was under the Rip bridge :)

Gents,
With that sort of distance, coupled with that top speed on just a "social" paddle, we'll have to consider "press ganging" you into both the Myall and Hawkesbury Classics, (see Events page). It certainly was a great day for a longish paddle; Annie and I were confined to shore as we had a house full of visitors, up for the day. The closest we got to the water was looking out over the Lake from our deck.

Owen, we did get some help from the 'rip' under the RIP Bridge :). You can reach to amazing speeds with nature on your side :)

I did it many years ago and would love to do the Hawkesbury again (I was fitter then). I do need a little more commitment to get the extra training kms in as well as being 'allowed' by my family to prioritise my time accordingly.

I don't think we can take all the credit for the 12 km/hr, but it was a great morning out.
